8.5 wasn't too sure

yeah i have 18x7 with 215/35/18 general tires exclaim uhp tires. when i saw the 18x8.5 i wasn't too sure cus there isn't too much room down there, but with a widebody kit it could be possible. try it out and pm me a pic. good luck

getting tired of everything i see, so i'm going different route, even though others have went my route also. Anyways I'll post pics when kit is on, new air suspension is on and new wheels

and the rear width is going to be 8.0 now not 8.5 which will be a bit better

Dude, you have to do 8.5in. You need tire stretch on Eurolines.
If youre going for 18's, make them count. I mean, youre going to have to cut up your car anyway.

Might as well get some wide motha chickens on it.

Heck yeah! I squeezed some 255/60R15's under the back end of my '68 Skylark Custom with some judicious use of a saber saw. That was a fun car to drive. 4 piston calipers on the front discs, and it could stop on a dime! Too bad it's long gone.

IDK why people think that a 18 will be like impossible to ride on mabey not practical for gas milage but do able if you get the right offset and right size tire, and a little fender rolling. But there are plenty of fits on 18,s here are just a few.

this one ride on a 18x9+30 et

wheels are 18x7.5 +38 and rears are 18x8 +28 i think, forgot the offsets. Next wheels are going to be more aggressive and wider. I'm thinking about 10 inch wide wheels with +0 offsets!

I am neither saying it's nice/ugly nor should you be doing it, but yeah, people here in Indonesia have been putting on silly wheel sizes for a long time...

I am guessing that since people are having rubbing issues with 15,16, and 17 inch wheels that anything bigger than a 17 is not possible and some want to get the biggest wheel possible without modifying the fenders or trimming clips....etc so Im thinking that cause most people have problems with a relitively small wheel that a some what large wheel wont work, but if the proper size and offset is used than a 18 or 19 should work. but of course if the tire is a wider or more of a square tire than tou mat have to roll some fenders or trim clips etc..., and would be highly recommended if the car is slammed. Hell the fit aint no lambo or ferrari or something like that so it wont most likely be a expensive repair if damage from the wheels occur. But in short dont be afraid to try new things or put in a little work to get the wheels to fit.

sorry for the long story

It's not the wheel but the tire and its position in the wheel well that controls whether rubbing occurs.
Any tire less than 23.5" on 08's and 23.7" diameter on 09's will clear the fender liner unless the wheel is pushed too far out by rim width or offset.
You could put solid wheels (aka wagon wheels) as long as you don't get too big in diameter or the wheel pushed too far out from the hub.
And yes solid 22" x7 wheels with only a half-inch of rubber coating would fit nicely if the offset wasn't too little. (42 mm for 08 and 45mm for 09).
You might want to get one of those hydro chairs used by truckers if you do that; and be prepared to replace a lot of things falling off.
cheers.

oh, and don't forget along with worse mpg and worse ride, the acceleration will be worse due to the added unsprung weight.

but if you're trying to sport 18s or 19s, you don't care about acceleration or mpg, lol.

?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????
the larger the wheel is the larger the tire will be, you can change it buy getting a lower profile tire but it wont really matter unless you go larger than the overall diameter of what the factory specifies, plus you will loose some of the space you have to work with buy lowering the car plus, the amount of travel the suspension has to. witch is why some roll, pull fenders, trim linings and tabs, but the whole point is if you want to run a wheel thats larger than average, or larger than what people are runnig then you will have to do some work to get them to fit, instead of waiting for someone else to tell you what will work

????????????????????????? true if what you are upgrading to is heavier, but if you do some reasearch on the weight of the wheels im sure you could find a 17 inch wheel lighter than a 15 inch but i am also sure this wheel will more than likley be alot more expensive then the cheap wheels that you get as a package with tires and hard ware for less than 900, not to mention its prolly almost as bad as carrying around a bunch uf useless junk in your trunk or a oversized speaker box, and half your woredrobe in there. if you want a car to operate like its stock then dont modify it, cause there is a cause and effect for whatever you do in life
