Not new to wheel specs, just to the Fit... help please.

Im looking at getting wheels for my 5 day old fit.

I understand size, offset, yada yada yada.

I have ZERO experience with the Fit, how much wiggle room there is and how offset affect the Fit.

First, I have an 09 Fit sport with 16s. If I read correct info they are 16x6 with a +52 offset... is that correct?

Im looking at 16x7s (I don't wanna destroy the ride, the off the line pick up OR the rims)

Obvisouly the bolt pattern is 4x100. The wheels Im looking at are 16x7s at +42.

Thats a 10 MM difference on a 1" wider wheel. Now if that 1 inch wider wheel were a +52 offset that would split the 1" difference in half. The 7 inch wide wheels would go .5 inches more under the car and .5 inches more out towards the wheel well.

With the +42 ALMOST the entire one inch wider will sit more out towards the wheel well.

Tire size is 215/45

I am not lowered and (at this point) don't see lowering it...

WILL IT WORK?

Anyone running a wheel tire combo at these specs? ANY rubbing? Pics?

Thank ALL!

205/45x16 tires on 16x7/42 wheels fit fine unlowered. However, 215/45x16's will likely rub on 16x7/42 wheels. The outside corner of the 215 tire will move outward 15 mm even on the standard 53 mm offset wheel. When you move the tire outward 11 mm (53 -42) the outside edge of a standard tire 185/55x16 moves outward that same 11 mm. If you widen the 185 to 215 the outside edge moves outward another 15 mm or a total of 26 mm.
You can measure that with a ruler (+26 mm = 1.0232"). I think your 215/45x16 tire may make it as the stock tire is .4" bigger but because the tire edge is pushed out 1.02", 0r 26 mm the tread will be under the fender arch and on coimpression the tread with hit the fender arch.

205/50x16's will fit OK too on the 09 but likely will not allow lowering.
