I still have my IMSA CRX SiR with 180 hp that I take to the track regularly. I raced from mid 60's to 90's, mostly Hondas. Too old now. I like your setup plan. Good luck.
Check out you tube 'Hyundai Sundae' bit at VIR for an Azera video for a dealer. Though its a street car, still 2:33 is pretty quick but the SiR is 5 seconds quicker. So the Fit may not be that quick (mine struggles to break 3 minutes (automatic) but it has potential running against other econoboxes like Versa and Yaris..

Intresting. . . my father raced IMSA from the late 70's to mid 80's. I remember one year at the Miami GP there was a white CRX semi tube frame. . was that yours ?? It was the fastes car in the corners! My dad raced a greenwood corvette in 84-85 and 86 at Miami. Finished 2nd at the Daytona 24 in GTPL in 86 and his last IMSA race was west palm in 86.
Im not sure id be too slow. . id be happy with the Grand Am Cup IntegraR i use to work with and i can make the Fit lighter than that car and with similar power and similar tyres. (a supercharger would come in handy 270-300 hp)
As far as wheels, im going with SSR competition. We used them in Gran Am so i know theyr light and strong.
