My tires being dug out/scratched on the edge of sidewall.. is this to be expected even though i'm on stock springs and no other suspension mods?? or is something wrong with my left shock?? When the weight was out.. the car evened out RIGHT vs. LEFT. looking for answer if this is something i need a warranty repair on or what the solution is? It's a 08 fit purchased FEB.. only 5120 miles.. any help appreciated..

I don't think your shock is toast, sounds like a common problem with the tire rubbing on that plastic clip on the inside. If you can, shave it down.
The big question here is what is the offset on your rims? You are going to want at least a +45 to avoid rubbing on a stock setup. Another option is switching to a lower profile tire, using a 205/40/R16 might be the way to go. If you plan to lower the car, even a higher offset is better as I had rubbing issues with a +45 after I dropped down about an inch.
Another thing to look into is switching tire brands, apparently BF Goodrich and Falken have narrower tires widths than the theoretical width and this alone can make the difference if the rubbing is minor.
Here is a sketch that shows theoretical tire sizes, your current overall diameter is going to be between the 205/50/16 and the 205/40/16. I will tell you I had a ton of problems with the 205/40/17 and I switched to the 195/40/17 which fixed everything for me. Bear in mind offset is a big factor, find out your offset first.
