I've been wondering about that for a long time. What are the relative merits of each kit? Right now, I have no basis to choose one over the other.

Its a good project. We had a customer and I wanted discs so we ordered Eurasian parts for one conversion of rear drums to discs and a kit from A&J Racing.
The EurAsian conversion is as involved as your project, reqquiring much accurate re-machining and ordering parts considerably smaller than the US Fit. We got 'er done but not recommended. It more costly too.
A&J's kit is very good. All parts fit easily and are beeffier;our only issue was welding brackets on the axle to hold the parking brake cables and hydraulic lines. Riveted ones would work too but being fanatics ...Freaking out Fit owners and salespeople is entertaing enough but the brakes are really valuable for pad replacement and racetrack use.
I suspect the cost of A&J's kit is probably about the same as your project; hope A&J gets a group buy)
Did you finish?

Yes. hubs, spindles & backplates, discs, back shields, calipers, pads, brake lines and parking brake cables, spindle nuts, and of course when they get to the states you'll need to machine very accurately bolt holes, bolt pattern, and size on spindle backplates to fit American axle. We already got them and have installed them with great expense, A&J's kits are a better bargain.

err, I thought it would be mostly bolt on, with "all" the parts coming from the jazz.

Yes I thought so too, and from the parts pages it could have easily been so. But once you get the parts in hand the differences are very apparent. Obviously, both Honda engineers and lawyers decided the USA ain't part of the same world.
