They feel fine to me. A little bouncy after large shifts on the road, (like 2 or 3 rebounds before the struts settle down). This should be fixed by harder and/or adjustable struts once they are available (HELLO KONI!!!!).

Engines are the same so the only thing I can think of is RHD v LHD.
Al.
USDM= Dive by wire... bigger t-body... less room around the tower bar..
JDM= Cable throttle cable t-body.... more room around the tower bar..
I wonder it it is possible for him to remove the black metal cover that is rubbing the tower bar.... if not possible removing a section with a dremel or bending it......

Does anyone know what the c-pillar bar really does?
Eric
My personal opinion is that it makes a really good coat rack. I have serious trouble believing that it can possibly have any effect at all on handling. They are cheap, but I am not willing to waste the money to find out whether my opinion is right or wrong.

will putting washers under the mounts affect the purpose of the strut ? will i lose anything? is there any other type of material some one would reccoment to put under the mounts?

The purpose of this thread is to analyze the practical functionality of the commercially available "rear strut bars" sold for Fits.
First I'll say that I don't think that they are really rear strut bars, because there are no rear struts on a Fit. The rear suspension is a torsion rear axle as discussed in other threads, with coil springs and shock absorbers. The shock absorbers do not appear to have any influence on locating the rear suspension, camber or toe-in.
The commercially available "rear strut bars" appear to mount only to the top mounting stud of the shock absorbers which are mounted in rubber bushings. Tying the tops of the two shock absorbers together should not have any effect on wheel attitude throughout the suspension travel and can't really add any rigidity to the monocoque structure of the body/frame. If the body flexes under hard cornering, this bar would just move the tops of the shock absorber around in relation to the body, and would not effect position of the tire or suspension.
If the rear suspension consoles were tied together directly, without the rubber mounts, some body rigidity could be gained, but I believe that the reinforcement would have to be more than just compression/tension between two points, cross bars in a vertical plane would be more effective.
The only way that I can think of where this type of bar mount might have an effect is if the shocks were mounted through monoballs, eliminating the give provided by the rubber mounts.
All of my suspension improvement experience comes from modifying Porsches (also monocoque, but rear wheel drive) for track and AX. There may be some aspects of the Honda engineering and shortcomings that I'm not aware of, so corrections to my theories are welcome and would be appreciated.
Thank you for your input.
Eric

Yipee...i fixed my issue... just by uninstallin the mounts and reinstalling it by pushing the strut forward while tighting it... and loosening the bar in the middle and raising it up and pushing it forward while tighting it... so no more rubbing ...hopefullythe problem wont occur again...
