DC Sports Front Strut Tower Bar installed!

I installed my front strut tower bar I ordered from Optauto over the weekend. The fitment is perfect but you need jackstands to install all the bolts. The car feels a bit more solid up front.

The bar has solid welded ends for less flex and is powder coated. Overall the quality is great and am very happy with the purchase.

It looks real good. Finally someone put a pic up of it installed on their car! Thanks.

How much does the bar weight? Or how much was shipping weight?

The shipping weight was 7.5 lbs. The box was probably a couple pounds.

wow that's one beefy strut bar. Looks a lot sturdier than all the other brands out there.

wow that bar does look pretty nice! Looks like it gets more support than some other strut bars by getting some bolts on the side.

Yep looks good with the piece extending down the front of the strut boxes that will keep the sideways flex of the bar down.

now the question is compatability with the engine torque dampers out there. but other than the mugen piece, this one actually looks like it be physically strong enough to do something of use. plus it's 1/3 of the price.

This is probably the most sturdy looking bar Ive seen. Looks to have no flex at all.
I like the mounting point further down the shock tower also.

Is the bar itself hollow or solid?

It's hollow i believe (way to light to be solid).

Did you have to drill any holes since the holes are now moved further down.

Got the info from Option Auto's website:

DC Sports carbon-steel upper strut bars combine performance and affordability and reduce a vehicle’s chassis flex by connecting the vehicle body at the shock towers for added torsional stiffness. Our strut bars vastly improve a car’s road manners and handling characteristics, work with the factory suspension components, and are ideal for road race applications or spirited drivers with heavily modified street vehicles.

* Dual bar design with integrated steel brace virtually eliminates body flex for improved handling and drivability
* Mounts directly to strut tower with no modifications required
* Includes comprehensive instructions and all necessary hardware
* Titanium-look gray powdercoat delivers lasting good looks
* Available for upper front and rear (Some Applications)
* Manufactured and assembled in the USA

No... you just remove some small vinyl stickers that cover the holes and push them through.
