I just picked up my Fit the other day. I want to get some coilovers, but unsure which to get. I had Tein Basics on my xB and I loved the drop I got but wish I could go lower.

So my question is Which set of coilovers are going to give me the biggest drop and second where could I get them.

I am currently leaning towards HKS or Tein, but wanna hear some comments before I pull the trigger.

Thanks in advance

Fit4Trav

I just put the TEIN Basic on my 08 Fit. It rides really good, not to harsh. I had the HKS RS on my STI and they were a little to much on the harsh side for a daily driver, I went to the Tein Flex and loved them. These are the only two coilovers that I now about. As for the drop TEIN says Front 1.9 and rear 1.5. I have mine right above the tire and could make it tuck if wanted, but ran a lower offset on my wheels to make room for the BBK.

Did you have to use any of the factory suspension pieces in conjunction with the Tein since the Basic kit's dont come with upper plates/camber plates, in the front that is.

I don't feel like reading the whole thread so I will just ask my question. Does anyone know if the Tein S.Techs have to be installed with the lettering right side up or upside down like the Skunks?

I sure would like to see some updates to this post. Having all of the information in one place would be a great way to welcome Fit n00bs like me to the forums!

If you have side-view photos of your car, preferrably on stock wheels and tires, please post them here and I will add them as well. If you have aftermarket wheel or tire sizes, please post those as well. Again, stock wheels and tires are preferred for comparison.

Yes, fit4kris did one a while back dealing with Skunk2 springs. I forgot the web address for it, but I can always write another one.

lowering springs

I have a question about lowering my honda jazz '08. I recently change my springs to a generic brand. (205/45/17) Now the rear drop sits higher than the front drop and the ride is terrible, giving it a hot rod look which I don't like. I was planning on changing the springs to Eibach Sportline. I guess the question I'm trying to ask is: if I change to a different brand of springs will this occur again?

it shouldnt. depending on the springs, you'll get a different drop. the skunk2 springs lower the car more in the front, giving it a "raked" look. other springs go lower in the back, others give the fit a nice, low look. search around the forums. there is a bunch of threads about which springs are preferred by different members and what teh drop is and all that jazz. good luck!

it would be interesting to see just how many speed bumps would scrape with the Sportline Eibachs. My Accord is really nice BUT I have to watch where I go. I have put off lowering my FIT because it is so low already. The tires and wheels I recently put on last week would most definitely scrape in the rear with serious lowering.
