My wife's friend in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia went to the Honda dealer, and had a choice of red or blue dot jazz emblems directly from Honda. (Red for 1.3L blue for 1.5). Just wanted you to know the "rest of the story".

Pardon me if this has been asked a million times already, but...
After reading this, and other JDM parts threads, I got to wondering. Do you suppose there are just as many Japanese owners who are sticking USDM emblems and parts on their cars?

Kinda funny if that's the case.
I always wondered that myself. When it comes to cars that are made over there i doubt they would want to downgrade it to a USDM but for cars that are made over here and sent over there maybe. haha. I dont know. That is pretty funny though.

I'm sure a lot of the members here are too young to remember this fad, but in the mid-eighties we walked around in half-shirts, and on the front there was Japanese writing on each side of the rising sun red circle (okay, fire away with the old jokes!). I used to wonder if Japanese kid were wearing shirts with English writing on them, lol.
I'm sorry, but I don't think there would be very many people who would trade SSM head lights for MR lights. It would be nice on your car tho. Alredcar has them on hhis.
yeah red dot equals jdm... but i dont think jazz refers to jdm... i think they say jazz in the europe ones or wherever.. but in japan.. the fits say fit on them with a red dot.
Correct. There is no JDM jazz emblem, be it red dot or blue dot. The jazz is strictly European and Australian.
Apologies if this is not the right place for this but I'm brand new to this (picking up my Vivid Blue in an hour). Could you guys tell me what the acronyms all mean? JDM, USDM, OEM, 1.3, 1.5 etc?
I saw the Fit for the first time in Australia (and I'm a jazz musician) so I knew my idea to rebadge was prob. not original but I'm going to do it as well. I just thought I'd buy one from ebay but now i'm questioning that. Just need to be able to understand the context here, thats all.

JDM = Offered in Japan
USDM = Offered in U.S.
OEM = Comes standard on the car from the factory
1.3 = The L13 1.3 liter engine not available on USDM Fits.
1.5 = The L15 1.5 liter engine which is in our USDM Fits and is an available option for some other markets like in Japan. Europe does not get the option for the 1.5 liter.
