not quite sure but...

i guess ill preface this that i live in md and just had a recent icing over of the current snow accumulation. for some reason this morning when i went out to get my car warmed up i de-iced the car and put my son in his seat and went to start my errands. throughout the day while i had the fan on. more so when i had the heater on it smelled funny like almost exhaust fumes. is that possible that it was too cold or something. any reason why it would smell like that. maybe water some how entered the vents and is molding? i didnt have this issue last night i was on my way home from work. any help would be greatly appreciated.

uiskibum is on a distinguished road
how new/old is your fit? if its new new, then its probably the coating on the catalytic convert burning off (Your sales person should have mentioned this to you). If your past this "burn off" period then well I don't know.

verrrrrrrrrrrrrry interesting indeed! I live in Southern California and have experienced the same damn thing. I thought it was one of two things. 1. it was all in my head or 2. it was a car infront of me. But the more I think about it, it couldn't be another car because i am doing 60-80mph when it happens. It doesn't get suuuuuper cold here, but i do use the heater.

forgot to add, 07 Sport MT with about 48k

You might try switching the air switch to re-circulate. If you still smell it then you may have some kind of problem with the heater. My air is on outside all the time and I sometimes get the exhaust fumes smell when there are other cars around, never otherwise.
