I heard the JDM tailights don't line up exactly in the back and/or the wiring harness needs to be adjusted to fit USDM. Is this true for these replicas or are they direct plug in?

The tail light fixtures themselves, fit fine.

It's the wiring that needs to be slightly extended. Some customers have actually gotten away without having to extend the wires; they simply stretch the existing wiring a tad and that seemed to work.

We've performed a few tail light installs and found that you definitely need to cut/splice/extend wiring.
Namely the driver side reverse light & passenger side brake/parking light + turn signal.
