Tired of my tires

Tired of my tires
I bought my 08 Fit used with 26k miles on her. I bought it at an Ira Subaru (was bringing my previous car in for its final visit), and they told me they put new tires on it.
They're tiger paws and they're just too big. Not too big that it's causing a ton of rubbing/gouging, but enough that it makes a sound when I turn all the way. In a new england winter, it sounds even worse.
I'm looking for a good all season, but have no experience buying tires. The roads I drive on are usually plowed really well, so no snow shoes for me yet- further down the road.
I've heard some buzz about yokohama and the continental ecoplus tires, but need something that can handle at least a little bit of snow.

I know, I just want tired that actually fit the car. The TigerPaws are too big, but have enough clearance that they were deemed able to use. It's bee on my to do list for a while, but finding the time is hard.

ps uniroyal tgires are typically cheap, heavy, and likely oved
rsize for your fit.

Yokohama Avid Ascend are a good all season tire. My daughter ran hers all last winter and she commutes every day in the snow belt. She loved them compared to the OEM junk Dunlops. Yes, the do plow the roads up there but they are not always clean. She had 130 inches of snow last winter.
These are NOT snow tires. They are just all-season tires and come in the correct original size for a Sport model. Check tire rack for more information.

My tires were so salt bleached, I had to wash them a bit. Found em on walmart.com! Ha. They're the Uniroyal Tigerpaw Touring NT 195/65r15
They were fine for a while, but the "slight" rubbing sound is so much more apparent in the winter that I am just done. I had stability issues with my car recently and my mechanic was like yeah, no. don't listen to that dealer ever again.
I've got the OEM sport rims, so I'll need something that's 195/55r15. Thinking either the yokohamas ( think it's only the envigors in this size?), or the goodyear eagle sport all-seasons.
I'm just north of boston, we're shy of 100" of snow. I had to drive in the middle of the 2nd blizzard and was pleasantly surprised at how the car handled it, even with these tires. Some of the roads were unplowed even.

Tires
I bought my Fit Sport used with 25,000 miles on it. The oem tires were completely bald so I had to buy new tires right away. I found out the oem size is rather expensive and my guess is your Fit has larger tires because they are cheaper and the prior owner was trying to save some money.
I bought Kelly Charger all season tires in the correct size for the Fit Sport. I live the upper midwest and all season tires are a must-have for the snow and ice for any car or truck. I ran the Kelly Chargers on my 92 Accord from 1996 to 2014 and I was quite happy with those. Although the same model of tire was 2x the price for the Fit for a much smaller tire. I assume that's the low profile bonus pricing.
The tire store salesman stated that the Fit Sport was the only car that takes that particular size so the selection is very limited. In my internet research, I found many import tires but most are not all season and most were even more expensive mail order than buying the Kelly's locally and having them installed.
My only complaint about the local tire place is they got the lug nuts on super tight. My big torque wrench only goes to 360ft pounds and they were tighter than that. Good thing Honda put steel inserts in the aluminum rims where the lug bolts go. 85 ft/lbs is the recommended torque.
IMO, buying locally has benefits if you have a decent tire store. My locally owned tire store works like a nascar pit crew. They have at least 4 guys work on your car at the same time. They always get the work done in under 5 minutes. By the time you pay and get your paperwork the car is ready to roll.

I just put the General Altimax RT43s on my 2007 Fit. According to the reviews, it is the best way to go:

I wanted to put the Pirelli P7 Plus on my Fit, but they do not make that size. Check out the RT43's reviews. Good luck with your choice.

195/55-15 has been pretty much the standard 15" OEM size for many 4x100 Honda for over 25 years if not longer.
Discount Tire had $100 off $400 on eBay right now, plenty of 195/55-15 and 205-50/15 options.

Those Continentals are looking more and more tempting. I hadn't even looked at general tires, with reviews that good I'd be fool not to look.
Going to a tire shop this weekend, but it seems like the places around here don't have much in the size I'd need so I'll be ordering either way.
Thanks for the input guys!
