14s vs 15s - performance opinions
I would love to hear opinions from people that went from 15's to 14s or 14s to 15s, and any insight that they would like to share based on performance sake.
Any stories or thoughts on the matter that would help me decide if I should go smaller wheels and bigger tire.
For roadracing and autocross isn't smaller wheels and bigger tires better? (to a point)
Please save the comments on aesthetics, it's not about that on this thread.
thanks

So no responses...ok.
Well, here's mine... I just bought some Sparco 14x6 with some Yokohama S-Drive 185x55x14. Just put them on last night and WOW!!!!
Before this I had Enkei 15x7 with Yokohama Sdrive 185/50x15. A wider rim and taller rim and smaller sidewall tire.
First impression, my car is very responsive and torquier. The narrow Sparcos really cut through the wind. And less tire friction than the wider Enkeis. Although I can feel less tire surface grip going into the roundabout on the transition of the freeway, the Yokohama are pretty sticky so there was no slip.
Also to note, The taller sidewall of the 55 series cured the harshness from being lowered on Buddy Club Coilovers vs the 50 series stretched.
I'll post more thoughts and pics later I guess...

So today I took the new wheels on the freeway and WOAH!!!!
The 14x6 wheels with 55 series tires are really torquey. Of course this is due to the gearing change due to the smaller diameter wheel and tire combo.
Acceleration has improved tremendously, even at freeway speed, I can gun it and zip through lanes like a skier going down a slalom course. The car is much more nimble.
I'm happy now.
my fit next to my moms cooper-S
