I sticked one of this "Dot it" light on the piece of plastic above the rear view mirror and works great. Doesn't look as good as the JDM map light but it will do the job. No headliner cutting too.

Anyone use a aftermarket mirror with maplights. I thought this might be cool but I have no idea if it would work.

Seen alot of posts and links on these mirrors but don't know anyone that has actually installed one. Can't imagine that it would be that hard but you will prolly have to use the glue-type mirror mount to the windshield.

I got a couple dot led lights from Ikea and velcro'd them under the dash. They are about 3 inches wide.

I thought about doing this, but figure the little plastic shield would rattle? I have a sub in my car that shakes up my rear view quite a bit too so I didn't bother. How did this work out?

It works for me, I don't have a sub or anything, but I got more loose items in my trunk and seating area to worry about. Once I stick that there, it won't move or vibrate. Get a silver/white one to match the headliner too.
