Clearance of Honda Fit vs. Sport

I am wondering if anyone can tell me specifically the measurement difference in height (clearance) of the front "apron" on the Honda Fit vs. the Honda Sport? Does one have to be more careful with sport on dirt roads, with driveways and curbs. I am not an overly careful driver. In addition, is the 2015 any lower or higher?

I don't know how the 2015's compare with previous years exactly. I don't believe there's a huge change one way or the other, though.

The actual clearance is, so far as I know, identical between the GE8 sport and base trims. The sport models do have the low section of the nose stick out further forward, though, so it tends to scrape a bit more readily.

In general, unless you lower your car, you don't have to worry too much about driveways and dirt roads unless they're really obviously bad. You do have to pay attention somewhat to curbs when pulling into parking spaces, though the short snout and overall short length of the Fit does help here (in that you aren't as likely to pull super far forward in the parking space). You also need to pay attention to tire shards and such on the highway. The Fit is not much different from most other small cars. Of course, if you're used to a pickup or an SUV, you may be used to straddling obstacles that you can't on the Fit.

I have a 2010 Sport and the front underside is really scraped from my pulling too close to curbs. I drove a Subaru Wagon before this car and there was never a problem with clearance. It took me awhile to adjust to estimating how close I was to the curb with the shape with the Fit's front end. It may be different withe the 2015 model. I rarely scrape it now, but once in a awhile I pull in too close.

I can tell you, because I've looked, that there is considerable difference between the sport and non-sport (at least for the 2009 year). My 2009 Sport front bumper is not only scrapped, but it also has some crack marks on the bottom. The non-sport bumper is much higher since the fog lights are gone. Do what I did...go to a dealer and get them side-by-side for a comparison.

2010 Sport here also. I have noticed it's a good idea to pull out/in to driveways where the apron slopes at an angle. That way the front isn't too low.

I owned a '09 Fit Sport before my '15 EX. No matter how carefully I tried to "angle" the car into and out of driveways, I still managed to scrape the nose of the car on the ground on several occasions.

I live in hilly country, with many steeply angled driveways and street intersections (many with deep potholes right at the low point). There were simply places I could not take the car without grounding it out, no matter what I did. You also learned not to pull up close to car stops. The car is so short there's no need to, anyway.

Honda even went so far as to warn you about this in the owner's manual, so they knew it was an issue with the GE Sport.

The '15 LX and EX both use the same nose configuration and have less overhang and more clearance. I haven't had a problem with the '15 yet.

You can see one small black spot on driver side. On passenger side I have re-painted( Spray can) a couple of times. Still looking good after 6 years.

I don't know the exact height difference but my friend had a sport version and he would scrubs the snow banks after every snowfall. Not very practical
