Simple storage option

I wanted more places to store stuff that weren't visible. I saw this plastic ammo box at Harbor Freight for about $6, so I went to town:

I attached the lid with two sheet metal screws after drilling pilot holes for them. Be aware there is a metal plate maybe 5mm behind the plastic. If I get ambitious, I may replace the SM screws with machine thumbscrews and tap the holes for them. You can't see the box with the seat down in my '10 Fit.

Just junk that doesn't fit anywhere else.

ADDENDUM: Just be aware, if you want to lower the seat, you have to unhook the box from the hinge because it won't clear otherwise.

WalMart has 2 versions of that box in the sporting goods department near the ammunition. There are 2 versions that are 2 different heights. Both are around $5.00 each. I have all kinds and sizes of real and plastic ammo containers around here for various storage things. These Walmart and HF plastic ones are really convenient and the latches are not as hard to open as real ammo containers.

Or... you could just store the box under the seat so that when you fold the seat up when you want to pack in tall things into the back passenger area.... Nice to know that size of that container will fit nicely.

True, I just like it being attached.
