I have been Mt. Biking since 1987 so trust me when I say the only style racks that work well are roof racks. Trailer hitch racks sway and bounce no matter what you do. Trust me, I was stupid enough to give it another shot on my WRX because roof racks are kinda ugly and ruin the air flow but I ended up going back to a roof rack........

I still have my WRX. The Fit has been on order for a month now. I currently have a thule roof rack on the WRX but don't plan on using it on the Fit seeing as though my bike will fit nicely inside.......

Hope your new fit gets here fast! As for the bike, I've kept mine inside, but I'm getting a roof rack. Who wants a muddy/greasy bike in the car? I'm careful, but it never fails that the seat hits the headliner, or the pedals hit the floor.

I can't wait to throw it on the roof. When it's raining, it'll go inside. I think the T2 is a good choice though. I looked at one on a 2" receiver, and yes, I walked up and shook the shiznit out of it, and and it was solid. I'd get one, but the roof rack was cheaper, and I can't put my kayaks on the hitch...

Good luck either way.

I got parts for the Fit just waiting to be bolted on!.....I am really anal about keeping my cars clean so I will probably get sick of cleaning up the mud and dirt from the bike and revert back to the roof rack at some point. I did the same with a Civic Si hatch I had. I agree, no matter how carful I was I always scraped the plastic in the car and was always vacuming the dirt from between the folded seats.......

Mt bikes belong outside

Hey,

After I Mt. bike I sure do not want to load it inside my car! Although I tend to be a mud magnet (I always go right through the middle of a puddle). I use a Hidden Hitch w/ folding bike rack attached that holds two bikes w/ fork mounts. Works great! No issues, but again my bike only weighs 30 lbs. So rack w/ 2 bikes = 90# total. Do not know it is even back there!

Later,

Paul C.
