Composimo and myself both just got 08 Fits and we both noticed right where the dash meets the windshield on the drivers side some foam is sticking up. We contacted the dealer but I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this on their cars and also if anyone has got a reason for this?
oh man, i also have this problem... but mines the later 07's i just bought mine about two weeks ago. i notice the foam about 1 week ago, haven't had the time to call dealer. let me know what you guys get out of them!
Ive never noticed that on mine but ill check into it..

No more Crotas. . .
Same situation here, guys. It had bugged me before - but now that I see we're all in the same boat, I guess it's a normal thing. But it is curious...why would Honda do that?
It's just to keep dust/humidity off the VIN plate. it's glued to the dash so you can remove it and use some goo-gone to get the glue off if it bugs you that much

Took a look yesterday and I have the same thing. I don't look down there that often so it doesn't bug me

Picking mine up today so I'll check for said foam. It's right under the VIN, is that right?
I thought I didn't have it, til I took a closer look when I got it home...so that's how noticeable it is and how little it bugged me. I didn't expect it to be black foam. I expected a scene from The Blob.
Not to hi-jack the thread, but I love this freakin' car!!! 2008 Black Sport AT. It is so fun, I'll have pics soon and am sure to blab & brag along.
I noticed this a few months after having my fit, i thought maybe the guys that installed my alarm remote pager in that area messed something up. but it is "as designed" by honda.
