Question about locking gas cap and paintscratch

i bought a locking gas cap from college hills honda and was going to install it yesterday, i noticed a wire connecting the OEM gas cap to the car.
my question is this : if i cut that wire, will the "gas indicator" light up?
also, i've a few scratches on my right side door (some idiots hit my door when they opened their door)
anyway i'm thinking about buying a touch up paint from paintscratch.com
has any1 tried their products? how is it?

i love paintscratch products! great touch up quality. I use their spray paint but i also have their touch up. Here is how i used their spray paint:

Oh and NO that tether is only 2 keep the gas tank lid attached to the car so nobody can steal it. If u do cut it (just remove the pin it's cleaner) ur gas tank lid indicator won't come on.

You need not cut the "wire" - it is plastic. Gently push up on the anchored end from the bottom with something a bit pointy and it will come out. You should brace the gas lid while you do it, so it doesn't torque out of alignment.
