resonance from engine area

So I have had my fit for just about a year, and I have noticed this sound since about 6 weeks after owning it. It only happens at low engine load, or when letting off the gas. It sounds like a buzzing noise, like the same frequency as a cell phone vibrating, coming from the engine bay. I thought it was an exhaust leak at first, but I popped the hood and had a friend rev my engine and it sounds like its coming from the intake manifold plenum. My friend's fit just started making this same noise, about 4 months after he got it, although not as bad as mine.

My car is completely stock and untampered with engine-wise. I'm pretty hesitant to bring it into the dealer, but with warm weather getting closer, I'll be driving with the windows down more and the sound will drive me crazy.

Do any of your fits make a noise like this? Is there a TSB out for this?

Mine does it at around 2300 rpm. Vibrating heat shield under the passenger seat by the exhaust pipe. Put some dyna-mat on the shield. It helped quite a bit.

awesome! I have always been suspicious of a heat shield rattle, but I thought for sure it was coming from the IM area. I will address this issue this weekend, if not sooner. On my way home from work, with the windows down, all I heard leaving lights was "wahhhhhhhughhhhwaaahhhaahhh"
