It's been mentioned before on FitFreak, but I wanted to start a main thread on how we can get parts for the Fit from Mexico.
Why would we want parts for the Fit from Mexico? Because they have a number or European/Japanese spec. parts, most important to me - the front end and the rear bumper. In my mind, importing parts from Mexico would be a good deal cheaper than importing parts from Japan, so does anyone have any insight on how one could go about importing the front end conversion (hood, fenders, bumpers, bumper support, headlights) from our neighbors to the south? I'm trying to find the best option to give my Fit a nice, stubby nose.

well i went 2 baja california back in august and i did check out their honda dealership... sure enough they had a JDM spec (except LHD) honda fit parked right in front.. had the jdm bumpers (07 model) and everything. The interior looked like the Philippians (sp?) interior. They took american dollars, and when i got the quote, each headlight came out to $150 each, so i'm assuming that the rest of the parts are priced about the same as we have here (our headlights are what, $170 each?). Sorry, i didn't get info about the fenders or bumpers, only the headlights.
There is two ways off the top of my head. One: contact the Mexico chapter of FF.net and ask them to help out and two: drive down to a Mexican Honda dealer ship, and get the parts there Personally I feel that it cheaper just to drive down and buy it. And FYI the Mexican Fit is the older verison of the fit i.e like the Spoon Fit. Edit: I maybe wrong with the model style

Yea I checked down there, saw the 5 posts and thought I'd try something else haha.
Ya, so it does look like the older Fit, but I'm thinkin about buying all the supporting parts and then maybe getting a Japanese spec. bumper or something. I dunno, just a thought that popped in my head last night.

interesting because last month i frequented tj just about every weekend. i didn't see not one fit, but i did see a lot of mercedes and big trucks. i guess some things will be worth to look into
i was looking around the site looks like quite possibly you can order the middle armrest but i think it is only the top part that moves, hopefully they sell complete replacements.
