I was lucky... walked in, saw the exact one i was looking for ( happend to be the only sport on the lot) and traded in my POS and bought the fit! I've seen lots of people on here that have had to wait weeks or even a month or more.

Test drove an AT Fit and liked it, but I really wanted to try a MT. Nobody had one in my area (Kansas City; there are probably 8 big Honda dealers around). They said they had one on a boat coming in.
Then I got an e-mail from another dealer that they just got a MT in, so I drove it and loved it so much better than the AT. I was waiting of a VBP, but got the red one and I'm happy with it.

I ordered the first sport with a manual trans. to come to the dealership on apr. 19 2006 and waited about a week and a half for it to come, which when they came out was a really short wait time because you really couldn't go in to the dealership and get one off the lot back then. I really didn't have a choice with the color though but I like black now that I have it

One other in the area of the same color but a sport model with add-ons and dealer added on another $399 in prep fees.
I decided to wait when I heard it would be about 6 to 8 weeks for mine to arrive. By the time I found it was to be 3 months (beginning of April), I may have gone to Nebraska to buy one if I had known in February. Very hard to find a manual here in Colorado but they are much quicker in the mountains with the different gearing.

I got mine off the lot, no waiting. I originally wanted VBP, but i had to pay some amount of money and wait, so I said F that just give me the orange one. I called a few dealers around and they had some VBP but they wouldn't match my price

I bought mine used, so naturally there was no wait for me. I did however decide to go look at this particular Fit simply because it was orange. Orange is kinda my signature color, so this BOM Fit was a fit. When we took it for a drive I was very impressed so we went for it. Now we only drive the YukonXL when we have to, so we're saving more in gas costs than the monthly payment, so it's a win-win situation for us.
