Do tall guys "fit" ?

I'm considering the fit and am looking for some feedback from some tall owners. I am 6'4" and am curious if anyone else around this size is out there and would care to comment on comfort for a tall person.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide - I know I will have to visit a car dealer eventually but I am trying to put it off as long as possible.

I have a friend that is 6'7" and he talks about how much room there is in my car. He has never sat in the driver's seat though.

I'm 6'2" and I have plenty of room

FYI.... the Fit has MORE head room and leg room in the front seats then the Ford Escape SUV

Test drives are free!

I am 6'4" as well. I took a test spin in a 2008 Fit and I was mostly comfortable. One of the reasons I am waiting for the 2009 is the reported extra legroom, and the telescoping wheel.

For a small car it is roomy for sure. You should have plenty of head room, and leg room will be so-so. If you like to have your legs extended at all, you can forget about that. At 6'1 myself its not bad, little taller you may start having slight discomfort.

Fit has more headroom than my SUV. You should be good.

I'm only 5'10" but my father-in-law is almost 6' and he had no problems driving and sitting in the back seat. I have driven the car w/ 3 others near 6' tall and everyone was quite happy with the room.

+1. If you have a problem, it will likely depend on where your height is.

If you have extra long legs, then you may have a problem b/c of the lack of a telescoping steering wheel, and you'll have a strech to get to the wheel if you move the seat back far.

Headroom should not be a problem unless you're REALLY tall (6'6" at least) I'm about 6'1" and it's fine for me, but I only have a 32" inseam.

Because of the lack of adjustments (no telesoping, no seat height adjustments) some people just don't fit in, but most do.....

I'm 6'5" (34 inseam) and the '08 Fit is one of the best cars that I fit in. Typically I have the seat all the way to the back but can still drive comfortably two clicks forward. The only vehicle that I have found with more head room is the Element.

The Fit fits. I've had more trouble finding a comfortable pair of pants than a comfortable car.

Ditto to what the others have said. I have as much headroom as my 1/2 ton 4x4, maybe even more. I also have no problem with leg room, although I only have about a 30 inch inseam. I'm 6'0 tall. I've had adults in the back with no issues as well.

It's true, the car is large inside despite how it looks from the exterior.

I'm 6'4" w/34" inseam. Plenty of headroom. The only gripe is my right leg gets uncomfortable sometimes. I have to keep it bent upwards a bit which keeps it hovering above the seat. I would prefer it if my thigh could rest on the seat. I do regret not having Cruise control as that would make it much more comfortable.

Thanks for all the feedback!

It is really cool to make contact with such an enthusiastic user community; thanks to all for your inputs.

From your responses it is clear that the Fit will accommodate tall guys like myself, so I guess a visit to the stealer is the next step ...

Anybody have an ETA on the '09 models?
