Quick Question about 2008 Fit Sport alloy wheels

Does anyone know if the 15" alloy wheels that are standard on the 2008 Fit Sport are bare aluminium, clear-coated aluminum or painted aluminum? It would seem I need to know that before I buy a product to clean the wheels.

Thank you!

So far I have just cleaned my wheels with car washing soap. The wheels stay pretty clean by themselves; they don't acquire brake dust the way the wheels on my Saturn L300 do.

just use whatever you use to wash your car with....they appear to be clear coated aluminum with the inserts painted.

+1 most of it is painted... the side that faces out is polished then the whole thing is clear coated... they are very easy to keep clean and i use the same soap i wash the car with. No scrubbing needed at all.

clear coated

Most aluminum "mags" are machined then clear coated. The fit Sport's are machined on the side facing outward and clear coated. You can wax/polymer coat and wash as you do the rest of the car.

i use this orange spray bottle that is called wheel cleaner... its cheap works well and is fine on them, also simple green seems to work well... also good for getting bugs off the car lol

You all rock. I was being scolded by my son when I told him I used the wheel cleaning stuff in the yellow bottle. I will henceforth use my car wash soap or Simple Green and then wax the wheels at the same time I wax the car.

My wheels had some kind of gummy black stuff on them (in that narrow space between the "spokes"). He said applying the wax will keep them from getting that grimy again.
