Now mine seems high... $1050 every six months with 23 yr single male driver, no accidents or tickets ever, and a $500 deductible, and I don't have bad credit.

That was the cheapest I could find. I believe it was allstate that wanted to charge me over $3800 for a lesser policy and I told them to stuff it.

Why is this car so expensive to insure? My civic was less than $600/yr on full coverage.

144 a month with full coverage and a 500 deductible on the fit. Also on my insurance is my '94 Del sol. I'm 22, single and haven't had an accident since I was 16 ( not at fault, a mustang t-boned my poor civic )

I'm looking for a new insurance company .. i'm hoping to pay a lower rate .. hopefully.

Dang, now I feel even more ripped off. The 935/6mo that I'm paying is only for liability, full coverage would cost me 2k+/6mo. I'm 28 with one ticket. But I have a feeling it's high because my father and sister is also on the policy.

The Fit, like the CRX, is drawing a higher percentage of accidents than the typical econobox. Sometimes you pay for your fellow owners ineptness.

Mine is also 500+ for 6 months. My family has a MR2, s2000, acura RDX, and a mazda SUV. And the fit is by far most expensive. It's also the only rate that went up despite no accidents on any car

I'm thinking it's not always the drivers... I had 4 people try to run me off the road just YESTERDAY because they were in bigger vehicles. My only guess is that the NRA sticker on the rear window saved me from the craziest one. Red Audi sedan with a roof rack and a canoe on top. Must have realized NRA in my state = CPL. He was tailgating so close the canoe strapped to the roof of his car was above me about even with the rear doors of my car... He'd slammed on the brakes, goose it and fly up doing 30 over the limit, hit the brakes and barely slow in time to not hit my bumper, then follow with lots of yelling and obscene hand motions. Apparently doing 5 over the limit wasn't enough for the guy. Even worse, it was a 4-lane highway and he could have passed anyway without entering oncoming traffic.

If he wouldn't have whipped into that gas station I bet one or both of us would have died yesterday in an accident. Actually he almost did, he turned into that station doing better than 40 mph, I can't believe he didn't spin out into the pumps.

Really, I believe the insurance is the fault of other drivers. We need to be as careful as a motorcyclist because that's how they see us, something too tiny to ruin their car if they hit it. For SURE I need to carry to survive in it.

Insurance rate high?

Today I just received a rate from State Farm on the '08 Sport: $360.07 for 6 months. I'm 55 with 2 kids and a clean driving record. I'm paying more on my '02 Accord coupe....
