oh and I am getting 45 mpg!
I appologize for the crappy pic, but flash photography kinda blows in cramped spaces so I was using my flash light...
The upper left circle is the clutch safety switch that'll need to be adjusted down to bring the pedal rest position down. and the other circle is the lock nut and rod adjustment. The rod will need to be rotated so that it goes into the yoke i.e. shorter, but not too much that you end up with excessive pedal play.
enjoy...
Thank you for posting about this adjustment for the clutch pedal. Mine has had a little play in it; I tightened up the bolt a bit to get rid of the slack, and my clutch has a much improved, positive feel.
i burned my clutch up by learning to drive mt on the fit. it started slipping after some lady cut me off in the rain, my speedometer went up to 80mph when i was really going 20 or so, didnt know what to do, tires kept spinning on the wet road, hit the wrong gear a few times. could smell the clutch for the whole 30 minute drive home. the next week my clutch was slippin in every gear if i didnt ease into the throttle really gentle. ;/ haha im sure me learning on it had a lot to do with it also.
Basically the answer is NEVER if the car is beig driven properly. That is unless your hitting 250K or better. A clutch is used extremely little if used properly and should last any decent driver, many, many miles.
What did it cost to have replaced? Did you have it done at the dealers?

it cost me around 1k to get it fixed. but i also bought an aftermarket flywheel, fidanza(7lbs, 320$ shipped, stock is 17 lbs). so about 250 for my clutch, 320 for the flywheel and 450$ in labor for a friend to do my clutch. if you get the dealership to do your clutch you are looking at about 1k just in labor. you shouldn't have to buy a new flywheel tho, if its bad you can get it resurfaced, my stock flywheel is still in great condition sitting in my garage and i drove the hell out of my car...chances are youve done no damage to your flywheel. so youre probably looking at about 1300-1500 at the dealer to get it fixed..
well i wont take it to the stealership if i ever need mine done... but i would get a performance clutch and light weight flywheel... how big of a difference does your fly wheel make?

i didnt think there was really a performance clutch out, there is the t1r but apparently it doesnt hold up to what it claims, somebody with a turboed fit tried it out and it burned up really quick, they did claim it could hold up to 200hp and it didnt hold even 160... from what i hear its pretty much the same thing as the oem? the lightened flywheel there is a difference, you'll get through your gears quicker, cant be too specific, but i've let other members here drive my car and they liked it. it did take my mechanic friend 9 hours to do the clutch job...you gotta drop the subframe...or you can manhandle it out which is still difficult. he had to unbolt my engine, put it on blocks, jack the car, lot of work...
Well, I guess I shouldn't be worrying about it anytime soon. I thought clutches needed replacement around 50k. Didn't know you can go 100k. My dad's Mitsubishi truck needed replacment at 130k or something, while his coworker needed it 10k haha. I think ppl who burn it fast tend to have a bad habit of resting their foot on the clutch pedal when driving.
Does the RPM not "match" the mph when the clutch is slipping? I'm good at knowing what rpm corresponds what mph in a given gear. Can this be useful when my clutch starts to give in?
Well evo clutch is a lot harder than most cars u have to ease off it. But u will know when it is time to change it when the rpms go up and the car does not change it fast if that happens
