The new Honda City 2009

Don't know if this has been on this forum before (the search engine on the forum sucks by the way)....

There is some sneak photos of the all new Honda City 2009 out:
Spy Shots: 2009 Honda City Exposed...Should Honda Bring it the US? (The Torque Report)

Honda City is like a Honda Fit sedan and shares most of its mechanicals with the Honda Jazz/Fit including its 1.5L engine.

cmittle is an unknown quantity at this point
I'm not sure that I understand, isn't it pretty much a Civic with the 1.5L then?

Not quite because the City is apparently based on the same platform as the Fit. This would make it a smaller car than a Civic. I guess it would be similar in size to a Nissan Versa sedan - now that's a fugly car IMO.

I've only been to Europe once, 5 years ago, but I do recall telling my wife that most of the cars overseas were fugly but practical. American drivers better start to lose some of their misguided conceptions about a car's looks and instead focus on matters like MPG. Another 5 years from now I'm guessing that most of the current oversized vehicles in our country will have been shrunken to resemble the Fit....

Your thoughts are profound! I'm a cheap ass and in the year 2020 when I'm still driving my beat up purple fit it might seem like the Winnebago of the 21st century! Whew Hoo the world's smallest motor home/clown car!!!

Neat. I'm not sure how "new" they are but I've been seeing a lot of Nissan Versa sedans lately. They far outnumber the hatchbacks, at least around here.
