Dash heating up

Just noticed on my first long trip (4 hours ) that the dash right above the 3 selector dials ( tempeture, fan speed and air flow/defrost )warm up considerably. And also the passanger air bag button and the A/C button get mighty warm. It matters not if they're in use. On second examination, I noticed the travel time matters not. Just got this 2008 Fit new 2 months ago.
Any idears
I just gave up my 1973 super beetle for a new car and would very much like to be problem free for a while.
Have not approached the Dealer yet......
Anyone come across this issue?

Yeah, I have. Whenever I touch the dials, they're warm at most, not really "hot". I don't know why they're like that. My guess is that either the light on that illuminates the dials are on all the time or that some type of electricity is being supplied to them no matter if they're on or off. I think I'm totally wrong on that second one I said but just a guess...

Maybe the fan speed control resistive coils putting out heat.

Just an idea. Not really sure.

My best guess is the radio and or CD player heats up when in use. If the area gets real hot - I think I'd have the dealer check it out. Mild warmth to the touch is probably normal.

This is normal. Electronics put out a considerable amount of heat.

i would imagine it would be the electronics in the car just letting excess heat out. I've never had an issue like you describe though. Go to a dealer and check with them just in case. It'd be covered by warranty probably if there was a problem.
