Over here in Europe you also need to have the front license plate on by law. But the bumper has a predefined space for the license plate, so the bumper will be ugly without it...
But I have no trouble with the license plate, I even have my own "show license" plate that I try to use every time I take photos of the car.

That's the way it is on the GEs. There's no need to drill into the front of the bumper, it mounts from underneath the bumper.

So I JUST put my front plates on... but it's not entirely viewable from all angles. I dunno how to explain it, but hopefully my setup doesn't warrant a ticket. My front plate IS mounted in the front, and that's all thats required in Cali, right? Haha

I am now looking for custom plates to replace that dealer ad thing. they already have their name on the rear license plate frame. maybe i should just go ahead and tell them i will stick their name all over my car in exchange for a free car.

The only thing good about a front license plate is that since i cannot see the nose when I park in tight spaces it somehow protects my front bumper from getting scratched (i assume).

BTW, can I remove the front license plate though w/o makign the front looking bad? will it leaving 2 holes on the bumper? Is there anyway to cover it up?
That was two things I told my salesman when I bought my car. No dealership logo on the back of the car and no drilling on the front to bolt on a dealership plate. They were so great and did not do either one.

that little hole is nothing. on the jdm bumper, there is a slot built in so if you dont have a front plate, it looks ugly. you just have to work with what you have.
