So I was taking the dog to the dog park last night. I had a 1 gallon water container in the back right passenger floor area. Long story short, the container tipped over and the cap came off!!! UGH!@$@#$%@#%(
Now I have about 1 gallon of water all over the bottom of the back right passenger side. I tried to soak up as much water as I can with paper towels..... I'm airing it out right now (left the windows open) I'm at work...
My concern is.. are there any wires or anything important right under there? or is just the carpet?..........

Man don't worry it will be ok. I have done the same thing quite i few times. But in different places in the car. It will dry. There is no use in crying over spilt water. Just let it dry and it will be ok
Just worriedfor any electrical wires/connection that run along or even sit at the area... It's actually a LOT of water. lol.. I use paper towels and PUSH down and water squeeshes (sp) around... Hope all will be fine!

Do you have access to a Wetvac? My mom had a similar occurrence in her van and I used my shop vac and got all of the water up until it was just damp. Then I used a hair dryer to completely dry it. If you leave it too wet it will mildew and smell.

True. Just be glad it wasn't milk or any other type of fluid that was spilled.
Id suggest many actuall towels instead of paper towels heh.
I spilt some water on the front pasenger floor, it wasnt that much but i soaked it up with towels and it was all good. I imagine the same thing for you.

Don't worry about it. Take a shop-vac or something and get all the standing water you can. Soak up the rest that you can get with paper towels. Let the car air out as much as you can over the next week.
At the Audi store I used to work at, someone left the sunroof open on a car through a torrential summer rain storm. The whole A4 was probably flooded with a couple inches of water. Way, way more than you are talking about. It took some vacuuming and soaking, and a couple days indoors airing out, but everything was fine. You'd be surprised how much of this kind of thing your car can deal with.

when you get home, if you have a garage, leave the door open and put a fan next to it to further dry it out.
yea air it out for a very long time to get all the moisture out. i'd leave all the doors open (just make sure you turn off the dome light), and i'd do that for a few days in a row at least, just to make sure i over-do it.
Everyone is right. Suck it up with a Shop-Vac (be sure the paper filter is removed), blot up what you can with towels, and then turn a fan on it (that's what carpet cleaners do to hurry the drying process).
