Regardless of what you want to call it (that was discussed some time ago)
I know there are a few guys here that have installed them. This is something I would seriously consider as it is the one feature that apparently is not offered on the Fit. In my opinion, a nice sliding glass roof would make this little car HOTT!
Of course, my biggest concern would be leaking (even though a local place by my house that does this type of work guarantees "leak proof.")
So what are your thoughts. If you have an aftermarket roof, how's it holding up? Any issues with leaks / rust or flexing in body structure?
How about all of you guys here in North America that are waiting to get your hands on a Fit? Would you go with an aftermarket roof?
By the way, I'm talking about a fully automatic sliding /tilting glass roof...not one of those cheap pop-up types.

I love sunroofs, and I dispise aftermarket ones, they never look right, fit + finish is so so, and hard getting parts in the future. I'll just enjoy my GS-R that much more when I drive it instead of the Fit.
I had a sliding glass / pop up sunroof installed on a Toyota Echo - don't laught - it was over $500 USD!
But - it looked good, had a full power slide back on the OUTSIDE of the roof and NEVER leaked...
I have seen a few of those sliding ones on the outside, looked sharp, but like corey415 said, the potential future issues bug the hell out of me.
Ya they look great on the outside...but sometimes the inside looks a little crappy.
I saw one where they used a very thick rubber seal that overlapped the headliner inside. Looked like ass...but hopefully kept the water out.
I think going to a reputable shop that has a lot of experience in doing this is well worth the extra money spent. I know that some dealerships will send cars out to have it done for customers as well.
I just wonder if there is a reason why Honda does not offer a moonroof for the Fit?????
They offer the Fit/Jazz in other markets with a sunroof. In the UK, it's a 400 pound option.
I never really understood why, but there are many features, such as sunroofs, that Honda hasn't offered in North America on some models, where as other markets get these features.
I love moonroofs. I don't consider the "sun" part, because the only time I would ever open it is at night. The rest of the time it was tilted for extra venting. If it isn't there, I won't miss it much, and definitely won't go shopping for an aftermarket one.
Positives for not having a sun/moonroof:
1. Less weight up top.
2. Cables can't stretch and need readjustment if they aren't there.
3. Less expensive.
4. Room overhead to maybe attach some sort of overhead console (DVD?).
5. Interior won't get wet when you park your car and have left it tilted as it has been for the last 6 months and that one freak Southern California rainstorm comes by. Sunshade looks horrible when waterstained, too!
Of the 4 Hondas/Acuras I've owned with sunroofs, all sold when older than 10 years old, none had issues with the motor or water leaking (other than my Prelude that had a loose drainage hose in the trunk).
I always close my sunroof when not in use, so I've never been caught in a freak rain storm.

I used to keep it tilted all the time. 99% of the time I was ok, and it, along with tinted windows and a windshield sunshade, seemed to keep the interior cooler on hot days.
