I've seen MSRP prices. Any ideas on where dealer invoice cost is? How about some feedback on what dealers in your area are quoting for purchase price. Sticker? Less than? Over sticker (ouch)?

I have been quoted MSRP and put a $300.00 dposit down. CarsDirect.com still does not have an invoice price. I don't know what their procedures are but they should get it soon- I think. Please keep us informed if you find it.

Dealers are at MSRP around here. They know it's a sellers' market for the Fit and they'll enjoy it while it lasts. They tack on the destination charge ($550) plus dealer prep. of $395 and of course tax and tags. The Fit is brand new to North America and will be in short supply for awhile; no telling when there will be room to bargain. It might help when the Nissan Versa comes out and adds to the small car competition. In the long run, all the choices may benefit the buyers -- the ones who don't mind waiting six months to a year. Dealers will compete for sales and the manufacturers will be one-upping each other with new model year changes. I wonder how the regular Fit will do against the hybrid version.

My problem/dilemma is I need a car NOW. I was lookin to get $2000-$3000 below the MSRP of what,... around $15,500 for the sport?
How much haggling should I be looking forward to for this lil car?

Even if you could haggle a Civic for that much under MSRP, I'd be surprised if they would drop that much on a Fit, especially when they have a back log. In our area, if you want a specific colour, in a manual Fit Sport, you can expect to wait a bit, depending on the colour.
Odds are they will start bargaining on the LX before the Sport. But like anything else, time will tell.
I currently only get $1000+/- off MSRP Price for the Manual Sport Fit, trying to get as much off as possible. I can bargain with him because he is my buddy's dad. But if you are around Toronto Area and looking to get some good deal and freebies, may be I can hook you up. LMK

I doubt invoice is $2,000 - $3,000 below MSRP. Its probably more like $1,000 off MSRP for the base model and $1,500 off MSRP for the sport. We'll know soon enough when Edmunds releases the invoice information.
Dealer prep should not be an added charge that is included in the total MSRP on the label. If you are paying $395 then you are actually being charged over MSRP.
Honda cars are not priced like Chevy's and Fords they do not have $2,000-$3,000 mark up to start with on their basic products. If you can find with with a few hundreds $ off consider yourself lucky. And do not pay any added charges like "doc" fees a lot of dealers tack on at the signing of your paperwork.
I offered to buy one at MSRP and wait for it to be built and delivered, but they are just not interested right now. I'll wait a few months until the supply catches up w/ the demand.
