my dad weighs in close to 300 pounds and my brother around 220, and the three of us and my mom all fit. as far as putting a fifth person in there, that would probably be pretty uncomfortable, but that's true in most cars (even my accord!)

A rhetorical question: What would happen if 3-adults, in back, had the pleasure to experience the side curtain air bag? Would the opposing bag inflate to counter act all that Newton stuff about objects in motion tend to stay in motion until...???

haha! i'm totally envisionsing those three balls that, when you pull two away, the middle one's motion is transferred.... pretty much all i came away with from physics, but a funny picture all the same!

seattle_watergirl is an unknown quantity at this point
Anyone have pics of the interior '09 fit?

Hoping for a pic of the area where the arm rest should be in a manual trans version.

eating disorder

I've owned my fit for almost a year. You can call me skeptical, and I love the Fit, but the middle person in the back had best have some sort of eating disorder.

I have the Honda Fit sales brochure book and want to point out something and ask a question. There is a picture in this book looking down on top of the Fit with the roof removed and 5 adults in the car. In the back is 3 twentysomething year olds. The way they are sitting struck my as unusual. The one sitting on the right has his left arm draped over the back set headrest, the middle woman has her back several inches off of the back seat leaning slightly forward, the guy in the red shirt next to her is learning much more forward with his hands on the headrest of the driver in front of him. In other words, not one person's shoulder in the pic is touching another person's shoulder, and they still look fairly cramped. It occured to me that the photographer made them sit this way because it was simply too cramped looking to have them sit the way people actually sit in a back seat--shoulder to shoulder. My question is has anyone out tried fitting 3 adults in the back seat? Comments please. Thanks, Glenn

We have in our 08; only works with skinny teenagers. Since the 09 is barely an inch more in hip and shoulder width, I would only suggest short trips with 3 in the back. Both the 08 and 09 are described as 5 passenger vehicles but I think they mean Japanese typical, not us fat Americans.
As far as the brochure remember its advertising; no truth is implied.

Why go all the way back to '06? Based on the reviews I've read, I'm pretty confident that the newly designed '09 Fit will be the leader in its class once again....
