Anybody with a weighted shift knob please let me know how you like it. Any drawbacks? I've heard it can wear on the shift forks like resting your had on the shifter. Any truth to that?
Any info appreciated. I think I've read almost every shift knob thread on here.

I actually have one that was one of the heaviest on the market. For a car like the Fit, it helps a great deal. The effort to pull and push are greatly reduced. In other cars though it wasn't much of a help because the shifting was so stiff.
Weighted Knobs definitely offer way more comfortable casual driving and also a quick and sportier shift for the weekend warrior!
weighted knobs make entering the gates real easy. i personally think the shifter and knob is too short on the stock MT, so i got a TYPE-R style knob (was like $25) and used threadlock to only partially thread it down. gave me a good 3/4" increase in height.
the down side with my knob is that it's too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. hahaha

Thanks for the input guys. The weighted knob sounds pretty good. Might have to give it a try.

Yeah I was noticing my knob sits pretty low. Not so much that it's too short but that the whole mechanism could be a touch higher. I kind of wanted a pistol grip type knob but realized today it's almost too low to grab like that. I'm grabbing it more from the top.
Thinking maybe just a plain ball would be better. Don't think I could do the metal knob on a daily driver that sits outside. Never tried one though.

What I did when I had a metal knob on my ep was...I kept a wristband in my car (usually around the gearshift) and on hot days, or when I'd be gone for a while--I'd slip the wristband over the top of the knob. It'd keep it from getting too hot and then when I would come outside, it would help cushion the little bit of heat that it did have until the car had cooled down a bit. Might want to try it out. I just had a plain black one but I guess you could always use a spoon/mugen reservoir cover.

I miss my EP ^^ but now I have a...............2009 Taffeta White GE8 M/T

Hahahaha!
This is also why I'm not sold on those fancy-shmancy, expensive ARC titanium shift knobs or any of the Type R items. I do wear gloves while driving, but not 100% of the time.
Given where I'm from the latter scenario is more prevalent.
I don't think that will fit your car. I'm pretty sure Hondas are M10 x 1.5. DSMs are M10 x 1.25
Yeah I know but it's nylon threads. Should work but it will have some resistance. If not I've got a 10X1.5 tap. Those razo knobs just have a 10mm nylon insert with no threads.

i had a skunk2 for nearly a year but felt it had a rather unnatural feel during quick driving. It is only my preference but i like lightly weighted knobs or light. If you have a short shift though a weighted would be nice to bring the shifting effort back to stock levels, i only have hard mounts so i dont really need the help of a weighted knob

QFT! I feel the Fit's shifting feel is excellent! A weighted knob on a stock shifter only takes away the feel of the shift. I also have a Skunk2 knob but it's sitting the the closet. Used to be a Civic I had w/ a short shift kit. IMO, a weighted knob should be used to reduce effort. If someone feels the Fit w/ a stock shifter needs a knob to reduce effort, should try something like a Vette or Mustang shifter.... those cars come w/ high effort shifter from the factory!
