If you buy it online, you have to buy it together with the remote entry system. Remote entry is going to be about $110, security system is about $130, and plus shipping so if I over estimate it to be $20, then total comes out to be $260. If you want the dealer to install it, then they are going to charge an installation fee. Cheaper than getting it at the dealer, but still pretty steep.
From my point of view, car alarms are pointless, other than making your insurance a little cheap. They just make a whole bunch of noise and nobody cares. Plus, I had a 2005 Civic with the car alarm, and the key fob battery was dying in 10 months. It was making this horrendous noise at 10PM, and I couldn't get it to shut up until it decided to turn off itself. I would say just get the remote entry system. That's what I'm going to do. At least it's not noisy when the battery starts to die.
It should be possible. I know shock sensors have been installed on other Acura/Honda alarms.
Getting another alarm is better, but that will cost you around $300. I guess you could get the installer to remove the OEM alarm and then you could try to sell it to a Fit Base owner to try to recoup some of the expense.
