I bought the all season rubber mats and they seem to take up all the attachment space. I went ahead and order the cloth mats but havnt got them yet to see if they will FIT.
How easy is it to release the mats or to vacuum under them while they're clipped in? We have sandy soil; fine grit gets into the carpet and beneath it and doesn't vacuum out easily.
Yes. Once you slide the rubber mats over the hook tabs, there's very little space between the top of the mat, and the underside edge of the hook on the tab. There's not enough room for the carpeted mat to also fit over that tab, and under the hook.
BTW, how many of your mats have hooks? I only got hooks for the front and rear mats, but if you look at the rear mats, it seems like htere's holes for them as well...
I saw that installation was cutting the carpet -- forget that, I'm not putting a hole in my carpet just for a floor mat. So mine are really easy to get in and out...
I installed the cloth mats in my Fit. Not a big deal, I did have to cut the carpet but the carpet is already marked where you need to cut it. FYI, the rear carpet marks do not line up. I had to trace it to make sure I installed correctly. Overall not a tough job, just take your time, looks great once your done.

I had the same experience. For the rear mats, don't cut the precut holes because they are not at the right position. I have a wrong hole cut out on my carpet, but luckily the hooks covers both the wrong and correct holes. The instructions might freak you out but it's really not a big deal. You don't even need a template.
I would really appreciate it if someone could post pics of the all weather mats installed. I want to get an idea of how much of the carpet they cover. Thanks.
The all season mats take up alot of the carpet area. The back mats are almost twice the size of the fronts!
There's really no need for using the hooks to hold the mats in. My all season mats haven't slid at all and they've been in for about a week. The backs of the all season mats have rubber spikes.

afte installing it, i realized i should not have. my old civic i just layed them there. why not? u know of the 4 mats, one of them (the left back seat) doesn't even have hooks (it's not possible)?
