Bicycle rack for FIT

I need to carry two bicycles on the roof of the FIT. Has anyone found a rack for this from Thule or Yakima?

I also need to be able to carry a folding (standard) wheelchair inside with three people. Will the wheelchair fit?

If I can make the above happen, I'll go to the dealer and order a FIT.

Thanks.

The wheelchair won't be any problem, just fold it and set it in the hatch area.

Don't know about the roof racks... They are available in other parts of the world, so I don't see why not. It is just not available in the US yet.

You can get racks for the Fit from the UK here: https://www.roofrackshop.com/vehicle...asp?vehID=2207

They charged me 45 pounds to ship it to the US.

Well, I don't see why it wouldn't since it's the same car. But I'll let you know tomorrow. I'll be putting mine on in the AM.

Pic I took last week of the Jazz from the Netherlands.

If you are able, can you take a picture of the installed rack and post it here?

This is good news. What do you plan on using the rack for?? I need it for 2 kayaks so it will be important to hear how they work with driving and equipment on them.

Here you go. I apologize for the quality of the pictures in advance. I had to use my cell phone as my real digital camera is getting cleaned. I got some dust on the CCD and I was getting little spots on all my pictures.

Yes, your wheelchair should fit. You will need to fold it unless it's a narrow one with not much camber.

Here are some pics of my rigid 17x17 wheelchair with the wheels off in the back of the Fit. You can still get two backseat passengers in there, of course, since the back seats are NOT folded down. I have a folding Quickie 2 that's a 16X18 and it'll lay in there, propped up against the back seats, just fine.

Here's the same wheelchair, fully assembled, 26" wheels, with the back seats folded forward. The chair has a LOT of camber so it's 32" wide at the bottom of the wheels.

For comparison purposes, same chair in the back of my '96 Jeep Grand Cherokee:

Disassembled, I can get the chair in the back and at least one 17" hardtail mtn bike across the middle in "tall mode", and carry one passenger.

PS - feel free to contact me for more info
