Can you replace hubcaps yourself?

Can you replace hubcaps yourself?
How hard is it to replace the hubs on the Fit? I am looking to get a base Honda fit, but just hate the lame stock hubcaps it has. But I don't want to spend 2 grand extra just to upgrade to the Sport trim just for aesthetics. Would the dealer do that for me or what??

go to discount tire .com. I got a full set of wheels and tires and lugnuts mounted and balanced for $870. Brand new, 16x7 wheels. They often have wheels on there depending what size you want for less than $110 a wheel!oh, and shipping is free!

I think User12 was asking about getting a new set of hubcaps, not a new set of wheels altogether.
Just go to Pep Boys or look around online for hubcaps or hubcap covers. You can probably find a set for $100. New wheels would be nicer, but if it's what you're looking for, yea hubcaps are a LOT cheaper than wheels. You should be able to just pop them off and pop the new ones on.

You're right, and I totally got that which is why I posted the link to the picture of the steelies and the civic center caps as well as the option to craigslist some used wheels--it's just that sometimes new-to-you wheels are not that much more $$ than nice wheel covers. I'm just not a fan of full on hubcaps.

Anyone know if those Civic centercaps fit on the stock Fit steelies properly?
I'm not really a fan of the Fit steelies weird asymetrical hole pattern (did they do that to make it easier to balance without weights?) but i'm REALLY not a fan of full on hubcaps either, so I may respray the steelies and run those centercaps instead.

Thanks msbxiv, I guess you have first hand experience since you've got a 91 wagon and a 12 base, i'm sure you swapped them over out of curiousity, I know I would LOL.

Exactly--my original intention was to use the center caps on my steelies but then I found the alloys for a price to good to pass up. I'll still use the steelies for winter tires like Black3sr.
Hey Black3sr, which winter tires do you use (apologies to OP for hijacking the thread)?

I know this is an older thread... but where can you get those caps? I'm not loving the hubcaps on my 2013 base FIT.

EBay - just search for 1988-2007 civic crx center caps. They also have all chrome without the black.
I picked up a set for my '13 base, but haven't put them on yet as my steel wheels are kinda nasty. Not sure if I'm going to respray them semi-flat black or paint them silver like they used to come from the factory in the '90s

Hmmmm, thanks for the reply! I checked there, but the black ones only have 1 available I have a black fit, so I'm kind of set on the black caps.
