Window Tinting: different levels on front and back.

Window Tinting: different levels on front and back.
The question is, for those of you who have different levels of tinting on your Fit, can you tell me why?
Okay, so I know some states require different levels of tinting on front windows than on back. (Example: Florida Welcome to TintLaws.com).
But here in Massachusetts it can be 35% all around except the windshield. But I've been paying attention to the cars and SUVs on the streets of Boston, and notice that MANY of them have lighter tints on the front side windows than their backs.
So many of those folks are making a decision to get different levels. I assume it's for visibility. Is 35% just too dark for safe night driving? Being in a city there are lots of pedestrians and bicyclists out at all hours of the night.
Anyone have any stories to share about too dark tints causing problems?

I have 20% on the five rear windows and 35% on the front four. Here in Michigan it's actually only legal to tint the rear windows. I got the different levels so if a cop looks at it they can tell the rear windows are darker than the front. Maybe they will think the front isn't tinted at all. I know thats a far fetched idea but I figure I'll try it. In all honesty 35% is more than sufficiant for driving at night, hell I think I could drive with the 20% without a problem.

If I had to do it again I would get 5% hatch (for truck lights at night) 20% rear doors and 35% front doors. This gives the illusion that your tints are legal. 5% all around is a bit getto in my little opinion.
One thing to consider is that if the police stop you and they have a tint grade reader you can get a warning to get them removed or a ticket or both!
As for driving some have 5% all around and they get used to driving with it quite safely and without it being anoying in anyway. I have confidence that whatever combination you come up with will be ok.

Would it look weird if I get ONLY the back 2 windows tinted? I want it to be cooler and less bright for my 5 yr old goddaughter but to save some money by not doing them all. Would it look strange though? Can't find any pics of this.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Your state allows you to go to 27% all around.

Yeah, I would go with doing the four, not just the two. Otherwise go with those little suction cup shades.

I just got 5% all around on my car. While I absolutely love it, I wish I would have had the option to get like 10% on the two front windows. But, at the tint shop the only option I had that was a shade lighter than 5 was 20% and that was too light. In all honesty if you are looking for a tint job that wont get you bothered get 20 or less on the back windows and 35 upfront. Only reason I did 5% all around is cause cops around here dont care and it looks amazing.
