Two used Fits: Which would you choose?
Hi all, first post here.
I'm looking to buy a used Fit and there are two in my area that are quite similar and suit my budget. I'm looking to get some input from all you Fit owners!
Car #1: 2009 base model Fit (DX-A) with 106000 kms (66000 miles) on it. Minimal wear.
Car #2: 2009 Fit Sport with 144000 kms (90000 miles) on it. Also minimal wear.
Both are black and I think with a bit of haggling both will be within 500$ of each other...so which do you think is more valuable? The extra unspent miles or all the bells and whistles of the sport?
I'm excited, as this will be my first car. Thanks in advance for your responses!

Do you have any documentation on the service records on them? I'd be apt to choose the one that I knew had regular oil changes. Check the tires as well, as they will be a significant expense if you have to buy them soon. Good luck with your decision.
I just bought a used 2013 Fit Sport Auto (U.S.A.) and it took me six weeks to make a decision!

I personally would check out both cars to see what condition they really are in. Relying on pictures, carfaxes, and the seller's word is not enough. If they are both in equally good condition, then I would go with the sport model.

The 3 Hour ride home on the Interstate (after extracting 3/4 QT of excess fresh engine oil as added by the Dealer!) at 75 MPH yielded 36-1/2 MPG and all went well.
Spent today detailing with clay bar and wax. Also found that a plastic pin that holds the front fascia to the plastic fender liner under a front corner was missing or sheared off. These are 10mm holes and Dorman 963-500 is the perfect replacement part.

Car #2 the Sport. I believe for that model year the Sport has a 5-speed auto vs a 4-speed for the base plus the other niceties. If you drive on freeways a lot, cruise control is great to have.
This is assuming that both cars have been well cared for, of course. If one looks/drives significantly better than the other, I would go for that one regardless of trim levels.
When I bought my '12 Sport, there was a '10 base that was also available but it had much higher mileage, drove poorly and smelled like smoke inside. But they were only asking about $1K less for the base. No brainer-and I haven't been disappointed.
Good luck and let us know what you decide.
