How do you rate your Fit in reliability ?
I must admit that after buying a used 2013 Fit base that I had a strong case of buyers remorse. After all, the selling points were a) record of reliability, b)cargo capacity, c) fuel economy. After driving it awhile, the highway driving seemed like a workout. Seemed like every swag in the rod, every gust of wind, etc. made it a chore to hold a straight line. Wanted to trade it in. I must have gotten used to it as the driving experience doesn't irk me that much. And...having test rode other vehicles I must say that the Fit is probably the one that fit my criteria the best. Friends have bought cars recently and have had mechanical problems already. Other than the Takata recall, no problem with the Fit. Will I end up having the last laugh ?

Two nearly bullet proof cars built in recent history:
Fit
Highlander
How do I rate my '07 Fit on a scale of 0-10 in reliability? 10
While the Fit is nowhere near a favorite car of mine given it is way too small for tall drivers, the OEM parts put into this car at the factory were second to none in reliability. Turn the key and go.

My 09 Fit Sport has 75K miles. Reliability has been outstanding since it was driven off the showroom floor 8 years ago. Had only 2 minor problems - a sticking rear hatch release mechanism(sprayed it with WD-40), and a small interior leak caused by a crack in the sealant on the driver's side roof seam(applied duct seal).
I also experienced the wind gust problem when driving at highway speeds. That was resolved for the most part by replacing the OEM 185/55-16 tires with wider 205/50-16 tires, which vastly improved the highway stability.
(Note: The 205/50-16 has the same OD as the 185/55-16, and the front tires will not rub against anything in the wheel well when turning.)

Hey, on the next set of tires I may just try the 205/50-16's. There were times this spring in the Kansas winds when I kept saying that this car has got to go. I came real close to trading it in on a '16 Subaru Imprezza Hatchback.

the car itself i thought drove real nice and i like that boxy appearance.

forgot to mention about that last laugh remark. i think you will have the last laugh. my 12 sport had zero issues and i drove that thing pretty hard every day. i am not shy hitting redline nor rev limiter at times.
