2017 White Fit EX paint question
The 17 White EX I ordered for my wife is at the dealer. I went to look it over today and the bumper covers are sort of yellowish as compared to the rest of the car. Dealer says (of course) that it's normal. No other white cars there right now to compare it to. I realize the bumper covers require a different type of paint to allow for flex, but this was more mismatch than I'd hope for on a new car.
Any thoughts on this being normal, etc?

Perhaps, but they said it's common and that I could see it on other new cars on the lot if I came down. Hoping to hear from someone who might have a white Fit or other Honda to get their thoughts.

Just went to another dealer 30 minutes away. Every white car on the lot has a mismatch to some degree bumpers to body. Blue cars also had an obvious (to my eye) mismatch. Many of the red also had a pretty good color difference. Really strange, Honda.

Normal.
Depending on the light source and angle viewed, the bumpers may look exactly the same or they may look a shade different.
White is probably the most obvious about it, other colors show it to some degree too. Black is probably the least apparent.
And it's likely to be found on all of Hondas cars, not just Fits.
Once you really notice it, it stands out in your mind and your eyes, and you obsess over it. LOL

I got a white 2016. I notices all the plastic painted parts are slightly off shade (yellowish) when compared to the metal panels. It is definitely more noticible when it is overcast out and dependent on the angle viewing the panel.
I brought it to the dealer's paint department and they told me it is due to the paint/clear coat mixture on plastic panels versus metal. Either way since I bought the car already, I just had them document my concern and went about my way.
Oh and they also gave me a pamphlet from PPG addressing this issue. I'll upload it when I get home.
Personally I think it Its bullshit. I also have a white Lexus without this issue. I think its just poor Honda paint quality from cost saving measures.

I didn't buy the car. Not only was the paint an issue, the dealer located and brought in a 16 instead of a 17! I don't know if was intentional or not, but I told them to F off and ended up at another dealer who gave me an $800 better deal and found the 17 we wanted so maybe we'll get the car next week.
I'll be calling Honda NA CS next week to share my experience with the local dealer.

This is common on most cars. The bumpers typically have a darker base material than the body. Go to any dealership on a bright day and look at cars closely, you'll generally see the plastic bumpers a shade or 2 off from the body. Most people never notice it.

and white pearls are the hardest to match followed by some silvers. given said dat, my wife's GK is a pretty decent match.

Be aware that Taffeta White and Monte Carlo Red are single layer paint systems (other colors aren't). That means with no clear coat, they stain and chalk up over time so you have to rub out and polish them...ask me how I know.
