244,000 miles and counting
My 2009 Fit Sport is the best car I've ever owned. I now have 244K miles on it,
The only things I've had to do is change fluids, filters, battery, tires and brakes. Oh, and the rear struts. Never had to do any engine work.
The check engine light came on for the first time about a month ago. The code was "misfire in cylinder 3" and I was pretty sure what it was. 240K on the spark plugs is a lot to ask.
I bought 4 new plugs, the same NKG Iridium plugs that came in it and got to work. BTW, take off the cowl to reach the plugs. Makes it so much easier.
Turns out the #3 plug had loosened up just a little bit and there was a tiny bit of blow by that damaged the boot, so I had to get one of them. I would have replaced them all, but the parts store only had one and the rest looked great.
You can see them here.
When I think about what car I will get after this one, I can't find anything I'd really like more than another Fit. That will be a long way off though as I plan to keep this one going as long as I can, and I think that will be a while.

There are quite a few old threads on here talking about loose spark plugs, especially the third one. Seems like they can go at 40k or 244k! Making me a little nervous about going to pickup a new-to-me '09...
Did the plug feel loose? or did you mostly just notice the blow on the boot? I'm thinking about somehow checking them when I pick up the car, but sounds like you can't fit a torque wrench back there. Think I could just check them/tighten them by reaching around from the passenger side of the head?

I only figured it out because of the engine code in the computer. It took a few thousand miles before it started to idle a little rough and then one day the misfire was really noticeable and I couldn't put it off anymore.
There is no way to get to it without removing the intake or the cowl. Unless you have tiny little hands and arms, and even then it would be tight.

My GK comes with *laser* iridium NGK's, so I figure they should be good for the lifetime of the vehicle LOL.
Is your fit automatic or manual? /not that it makes a difference regarding your sparks. Did you do any transmission service? If so, how many times?

Mine is an automatic. I wanted to get a stick when I got it, but the auto got better mileage, so I got it. If only they made the highest gear on a manual a "cruising gear" so the car can get better mileage just driving down the highway. After all, if you're racing, you never get into that highest gear anyway.
On my brother's advice I drain and fill the transmission about every 30K-40K and I only use the recommended Honda trans fluid. It is expensive but cheaper than transmission service.

Mine was probably not a particularly good deal as I bought it from a local Honda dealer, final cost out the door was $11,000.
Then again, aside from a very light scuff mark I noticed on the roof, and something that sounds like a marble rolling around inside the hatch (when it's very quiet and bumpy, and when I open it) it looks and drives like a brand new car.
