Gas sloshing

I hear the sloshing (except on a full tank of gas) every time I park or come to a complete stop at a red light/stop sign, but if the air conditioner or radio is on then the sound is muted. Is the sloshing a normal sound or is there supposed to be some sort of mechanism in order to prevent that sound from happening?? Thank you:-)

Yeah, I can hear it in nine as well. Nothing I lose sleep over though.

If it bothers you, I know that there is a racing-application type sponge material designed to absorb and hold fuel in the tank so that the weight distribution is preserved.

The 'foam' merely assists in fire retardancy; fuel still flows readily back and forth but I suspect it may quiet that sloshing.
Then there'sd the application in a formed tank ....
If you want to quiet the sloshing encapsulating the tank with foam outside to mask the noise might be a more realistic solution.

It's just the gas sloshing around in the gas tank which is located under the front seat in a Fit. That's why you can hear it.

I hear it too... This thread confirms that I was correct. I mean you have to really pay attention and the noise out there have to be minimal, but I hear it occasionally.

its normal with the minimal sound proofing the fit has. take a water bottle, half fill it and shake it back and forth.. you will feel and hear liquid moving

best advice. Turn up the radio!
