My tint experience at Tinting Illusions Calgary
as seeking out a tint shop here in Calgary since last year, my 2008 Honda Fit has ten windows in total and they really make the summers inside like a greenhouse and as a result driving can be an uncomfortable experience. I had quotes from the major players in Calgary, finally settling on a Beyond.ca advertiser Tinting Illusions as they were the lowest in price and used the same tint material (brand) as the other shops.
Dropped the Honda off at 9:00 in the morning on May 29th and picked it up maybe three hours later. In paying the bill, Jarad the owner(?)/president knocked another 15% off (adds up to $52.49) for being a Beyond.ca member and he even tinted the small front windows, something I did not ask for as the price would have been extra when I had the quote from the other shops. Jarad did these for free and it really makes the job/look complete, so he was right in going ahead with the tint.
Eyebrow: 15%
Front/Rear Side Windows: 28%
Rear Window: 28%
In total the other shops were in excess of $529.00 for a tint including the windshield eyebrow. Jarad at Tinting Illusions came in at $312.33 (tax in) including all windows and the windshield eyebrow. For example Shadow Tint wanted $477 all tax and with eyebrow BUT not including the two small front mirror area windows, which are another $50 or so.
Here are a few pics showing before and after, the tint has been trouble free and the best thing I have done to the car and really wish I had not put it off for so long. Driving is a comfortable experience, the sun is not in my eyes as the eyebrow treatment takes care of this former pain in the butt. I also feel security in the car is better, street thieves cannot see into the interior and consider smashing a window for a quick grab.

Window Tinting
Very nice!
Right around the same level of tint (maybe a bit lighter) I was thinking of too.
Like the second shot shows, I'm leaning more towards the ceramic because it's supposed to be a bit less reflective, and maybe a bit more subtle. From what I can see on the internet, I'm not sure how true this is. Should go in and talk to some shops and see if I can compare the two technologies side-by-side. Hopefully have a better feel of my aahh financial stability in the next couple months.
You got the solarguard quantum or supreme?
For others thinking about tint, google is a great tool for research...

Thanks for the review. I'll be picking up my C later on this week and have been looking for a good installer for both tint and 3M. I'll give them a shout and compare with the other quotes I already have!

I am still impressed with the tint job. Give them a shout.
