Edmonton Autocross School 2011

2011 ASA Auto-x (Solo) School (Apr. 28th & 30th)

What it's about: This school is geared to teaching novice autoslalom drivers the fundamentals of high-performance autoslalom driving. There are two parts to the school, part one which is a classroom session, explaining the basic skills and techniques used in autoslalom (approximately 3hrs). In part two of the course students with guidance from instructors students get to practice on track what they have learnt in the class room (full day).

When: Thursday, April 28 @ 7:00pm (classroom session) and Saturday, April 30 @ 8am (on track session)

Where: The classroom session will be at the NASCC clubhouse (11512-168 St, next to "Grand and Toy" office) and the on track session is at Griesbach. The address for the Griesbach lot is between 144-145 Ave NW, and 110-112 St NW. Cost: $50

Limit: 32 Students

Eligibility: Registrations will not be accepted from anyone who has taken the course twice before. Drivers with a "reasonable amount" of experience may be declined as well, at the organizers' discretion. This school if meant for novices, not veterans looking for seat time.

  • Registration opens on Apr. 1 @ 0900hrs
  • Registration closes on Apr. 27 @ 2359hrs
Waiting List: If the event is full, you can register to be on the waiting list on Karelo, and if a spot opens we will e-mail you.

Other Requirements:
  • You need to supply your own mechanically sound car for the driving session. Passenger seat required.
  • Helmets are required, but for students who don't have their own, club helmets are available for loan. Helmets can be open or closed face and need to be Snell approved. Certification of Snell 2000 or newer required and of type M,SA, or K.
  • You must complete a Self-tech inspection of your car, the form is available at http://www.albertasolo.com/selftechform.pdf please print & fill it out.
