Question to those who have installed Tanabe DF210 or Pro-Kit springs either on their GD/GE FiTs; how does the ride comfort of the Tanabe DF210 compare to OEM?
Is the ride noticeably harsh or choppy espcially in rough roads?
Am leaning towards the DF210, but want to be sure of the ride. TIA.
I have DF210 on my GD right now. I'd say very good springs overall. It's just a tiny bit stiffer and better control. I rocketed through the knight bridge on-ramp coming from marine drive today at 60-70km and i didn't bounce.
Yes Fitster, right now I still have OEM struts/shocks and springs. Why, do you advise against using the OEM struts/shocks on Tanabe DF210 or Eibach Pro-Kit springs?

The performance might improve for a short period of time but just using lowering springs wear out your shocks/struts very fast. Once the OEM shocks are worn out then the rides get pretty shitty coz they can't control the vehicle's movement that well anymore.
I used Eibach springs myself before & they're too soft for my taste. I don't know if that's any better on a GE though. Probably not, coz a lot of eibach springs for other models are like that too.
Using OEM struts with my DF210 and so far it's ok. The other day while the car was on a hoist, I saw the oem struts up close and they look like s***. I know they're gonna wear out down the road and that's why a set of coilover is waiting in my storage room.
My suggestion would be, if you were only going to keep the car 60000km or less, springs and oem strut would be good enough. If keeping for long term, spend your money on a set of coilovers.

Thank you all for your comments, suggestions and sound advice.
Since I don't keep my cars for long, OEM struts with lowering springs is what I will do.
Now can anyone compare the ride between the DF210 and Pro-Kit? Which has a harder ride?
I'd go for the DF210s man! Look at that sexy thang! The listed spring rate seems reasonable. Now get some nice +30~35 offset wheels and you're rockin'.
Finally, decided to bite the bullet and go with Tanabe DF210s.
The ride is noticeably stiffer than stock, but not in anyway uncomfortable.
On paved roads it feels very smooth and imparts good road feel. But once you go over any undulations and road patches, you will notice the difference. Overall, I am happy with the mod. Great ride, handling and cornering. You can take the corners with more speed and confidence.
