Blower motor failed

Blower motor failed
I'm looking to replace my blower motor and resistor for my 2009 Honda Fit. This is part of the Honda Service Bulletin 09-097. I'm doing the work myself because the car is not covered under the Honda Warranty (salvage title). The blower part # is 79310-TF0-G01, resistor part# 79335-TF0-G01. I tried to only replace the resistor but the blower motor damaged the resistor. I was told by Honda that I need to replace both to solve the problem. But here is the issue: I ask the Honda dealer if the blower problem was corrected by Honda. They replied ''we don't know but we think so". So, I called several other dealers and asked the same question. And some said the problem was fixed and others said they don't know. So, here is my question to any Honda mechanic or service tech who is reading this or any knowledgeable reader: Did Honda motor company fix/correct the blower motor mentioned above? And, is the blower part # is 79310-TF0-G01 the new fixed part? In other words, if I buy the mention part - will I still have problems?
Tks,
John

hey - I am not 100% sure from what you wrote - what was the outcome? My current problem with my 2010 Fit is just what the TSB says for the 2009- Fan speed control does not work unless switched to '4'. Do you think I can get away with only replacing the resistor?
