The general manager Rob Colon has tried to make this right and I really respect him for that. The $2500 check to make my trade-in tolerable has cleared and I am willing to forgive and forget. edit 11/5/08
My 2003 Civic HX got crunched in July so I went to West Hills and checked out the existing Fits and put a $500 deposit on a 2009 Sport M/T in dark blue. When my insurance rental car was due to end I went to the salesman and asked if he had a used beater trade-in I could buy to tide me over until the car I ordered came in. I made it clear I was willing to lose a little but renting a car for 2 months would cost close to $1500. He fixed me up with a 2001 Taurus with 50k miles and said treat it good and he would treat me good. Soooo ...
A little less than two months later he called to ask if I would be willing to take a Storm silver Sport M/T. I thought about it and decided OK.
I had agreed to pay MSRP at the time of the deposit. I was offered $5500 less than I had paid for the Taurus ($3k after paying $8500).
I asked how a seven yr old car could lose 70% of its value in less than 2 months and less than 1000 miles. He said "that is the current market". I had to beg, plead, grovel and accept a higher interest rate to get the trade-in value up to $4500. I felt like a classic sucker - no options. This was almost 3 weeks ago and I am still smoking. Love the car but still like the BSP.

I don't expect to win anything. I just want them to put the reins on predatory, dishonest practices. How many folks just don't say anything 'cause they're embarrassed or don't want to keep reliving a bad experience. If someone steals from me I wanna let others know.

Yeah, the earlier ones do have a special appeal to me too.
The BBB got back to me and said something to the effect of
"Nothing we can do" :
It was reviewed by one of our specialists and we are unable to process the complaint because it contains issues that are out of our purview.
It is our policy to only process complaints that are within the scope of our organization. Issues such as criminal allegations, requests for punitive damages, employer/employee disputes, cases already involved in litigation, civil rights violations, business to business collection issues, complaints against companies that are out of business, etc are not handled by BBB.
- at least I got it off my chest.

I got a notice from the Wa State AG's office saying they had contacted the dealer and gave them two weeks to respond to them. I'm not getting my hopes up but at least someone with more pull than me is rattling their cage.

I picked up a check today and deposited it. When it clears I will change my tune. Rob Colon has tried to make this right and I really respect him for that.
It also seems like I can't edit my thumbs down. I would like to change it.

I will add my two cents for a big thumbs down on West Hills Honda.
I tried a Costco deal with them. The price quoted did not include dealer installed accessories. Every single Fit on the lot had $722 dollars worth of accessories added. One's that would be hard to remove like side body moulding and rear step applique.
I was holding off for a few weeks to do my Cash for Clunkers deal. They called me and told me they could do it early. I was skeptical but went in anyway.
They brought the used car guy over and pulled the typical "throw 30 different numbers at the customer to confuse him" deal.
They lied to me about several aspects of the C4C program including telling me that the government required the car to be sold for MSRP.
It went on and on.
They wanted to charge me $250 for a dealer trade to get the color I wanted. I told them I have never paid for a dealer trade before.
I have a customer satisfaction survey to fill out for Costco. I will recommend they hook up with another dealer.
I ended up getting my C4C deal at Burien Honda. I was their first one, did the deal on the morning of July 24th. There was no BS.
