What was your Dealer Markup?

I have a deposit down only as of right now, but the dealership pretty much has me by the balls since there aren't many FITs in the tampa bay area that are available. They are charging $1300 for a "power pack" wish is pinstriping and door/fender molding, which they knocked down to $500. I don't want any of that stuff and asked them to forgo doing it even if I paid the $500 bucks, but they said they "have to". Anyways, I am about to pay $18,100 for a MT Sport, but I am going to try to kill them with accessories and tint. I could only find one MT NHBP FIT in the Tampa Bay area and it was scheduled to be built two weeks after I put the deposit down. It's a small sacrifice to save some cash in the long run. Plus I will be able to pay this car off in less than 3 years.

Seriously, it is worth flying into another state where Fits are sold at MSRP. Using the internet, you can deal with many dealers beyond the state line, and most of them will be happy to ship the car to you. Sure, there is a charge for that, but not to the extent of the markups that I am seeing around here. Or you can just fly in and pick up the car.

I went and test drove a Fit Sport manual at the Honda dealership close by. I loved the car, but not particularly the plain silver color. They had also marked up the car by $495 with something called an "Appearance package" which apparently included pinstriping and some other BS.
After the test drive the salesman wanted to talk price. I told him I would not pay more than MSRP. So he goes over to talk to his sales manager and the manager comes over to try and BS me about why they had to mark it up to make a profit. He told me outright that they did this so they could make $1000-$1200 profit and he tried to justify it like they deserved to make that much money for simply being a middleman.
I told him I thought that was rediculous to think you deserve to make that much money and that there were plenty of dealers in the area who would sell at MSRP.
I contacted Honda of Bowie, MD and spoke with the internet sales manager and he was excellent. He told me that they had a red Sport manual coming in between the 12th-16th and that I could put a deposit on it. He gave me a price of $15698 which is a little below MSRP and their processing fee is only $100. On top of all that, since I am a Navy Federal Credit Union member, I get either a 6yr/100k powertrain warranty or a 1yr complete maintenance package absolutely free.
I will opt for the extended warranty since I enjoy doing my own maintenance.

Just picked it up last night and I absolutely love it. It's certainly not fast but it also doesn't tempt me to drive it fast and waste gas either

Live in Orange County, California and have been getting ridiculous markup's on the FiT Sport AT.
The Santa Ana Honda quoted me $2000 above invoice, so around $17,970 without tax or license. However I've written to their internet sales team and seem to have a manager who'd be willing to sell to me at MSRP, we'll see about that.
The Huntington Beach Honda quoted me $19,800 out the door. I nearly laughed in their faces when they decided to charge me $200.00 for wheel locks and a $1000.00 misc dealer fee. So basically $1200.00 markup.
Fun stuff!

They gave me no markup at all. I didn't get wheel locks or anything (dealerships are always going to rape you with that) but that seems rediculous. Who did you deal with?

Happy to report that I contacted a very very helpful Internet Manager from the Santa Ana Honda dealer and he was able to give me $300 off MSRP on a Black FiT Sport AT. Can't beat that! If anyone who lives in socal is looking for a good deal on a FiT Sport PM me and I'll tell you the contact info for the Manager at Santa Ana Honda. Cheers

I believe my final price for my Fit Sport (AT) was just a touch over $17K.
I got an "All-weather package" of the A/W mats and cargo tray and rear bumper applique for about $200, and then I added the 16" HFP wheels. They wanted $1400 more dollars for the 16" wheels, tires, and installation, but I pointed out pretty firmly that they needed to discount for the 15" wheels and tires they were removing from the car.
So it was MSRP + destination = $16,565 + $200 + about $500 for wheel upgrade, but I don't have the papers in front of me.
